미국 정부 공여 얀센 백신, 인천 공항 도착 (6/5)

한미 정상회담 당시 약속한 백신, 미군과 밀접 접촉하는 군인들 55만명분의 백신이 미국에서 출발한다는 소식이다.

 

미국 Biden 행정부는 80 millions dose를 전세계, 특히 심각한 폭증이 일어나고 있는 나라와 미국 인접 국가, 혹은 긴밀한 연관이 있는 나라에 기부를 약속했다 

80 million doses is what the Biden administration has committed to sending overseas

 

그중 75%는 COVAX를 통해서 기부된다. 왜냐하면 많은 양을 가장 공평하게 여러 나라에 공유할 수 있는 최고의 방법이라고 생각하기 때문이다. 

This is the best way to do the bulk of these doses because it will ensure that it's done equitably

"focus on equity, the equitable distribution of vaccines". 

 

나머지 25%는 미국과 친밀 관계에 있는 이웃국가인 멕시코, 캐나다, 그리고대한민국등에 직접 공유될 것이다.

대한민국을 향한 a million doses 의 백신이 곧 도착할 것이다. 

 

그리고 그 백신은 안전하게 대한민국에 도착했다는 소식이 전해졌다.

So Karen 80 million doses that'll help where are the rest of those doses going out aside from South Korea? 

and how big of an impact do you think this can have around the world.

 

It's going to have an impact, Terry.

But, of course the administration and leaders around the world 

health officials are saying, 

it's just the beginning and more of course needs to be done 

but let's just break down some of the numbers 

80 million doses is what the Biden administration has committed so far to sending overseas 

They announced today that

 

75 percent of those doses will go to COVAX that's the global initiative to try and get  

vaccines distributed all around the world 

Countries can buy in on that. 

They're getting loans to do that they can get them through donations 

but this is kind of like the catch-all place who will then start distributing it 

and the White House says, 

this is the best way to do the bulk of these doses because it will ensure that it's done equitably

 

the other remaining 25 percent will go to partner countries that 

the United States has relationships with neighbors Mexico and Canada and Terry 

countries that have reached out directly to the United States 

asking for these doses 

so as you say South Korea they'll get their first batch 

Tonight they think a million of them will be getting there

and there's also going to be a focus on Latin America and the Caribbean, and South and Southeast Asia, and Africa.
